Brunswick Leib

I finally finished the Leib Battalion. For those of you viewing the blog for the first time, I openly claim to be an amateur painter. I like the history behind these guys. They fought with the Prussians during the opening battles of Napoleon's Prussian Campaign. After the Prussians were defeated by Napoleon, the Duke of Brunswick took with him his regiments, this is one of them, and they escaped to the Coast and were picked up by the British. They fought for the British in the Peninsular Campaign, and then at Waterloo. I have already started the Avante Garde, and have done the black uni's again. If I get some more sets I will do the gray uni's and do a Line regiment instead of the Leib again.

JULY 4TH

On this day in 1863, Robert E. Lee retreated from Gettysburg, and Vicksburg surrendered to Grant. These events occured on a Sunday July 4th. I look at my day ahead, and most of it is planned with Family, and Church. I was somewhat discouraged by this, foolishly, and realize that our founding fathers and men who died fighting for us, would like it this way. I look at my little family and am glad that I have the freedoms that I do. I hope you all enjoy this day, and thank God, and the fighting men and women who give us so much.

Royal Horse Artillery

I got the horse artillery done today. Still haven't put the grass on. I will probably do the Brunswick Leib Battalion next, or the French Middle Gaurd.

Prussian Fusiliers

I know these aren't historically accurate, but I tried to model these as much from the Napoleon Total War game series. I finally have a Jaeger unit for the Prussians. I haven't decided what set to do next, but seeing as I did a French and now a Prussian, I will probably get the Royal Horse artillery done next.

French Light Foot

This is a contingent of the light regiments of napoleon. Part of this was composed of Corsican volitgeurs, thus the difference with the yellow and green plumes.
